Holding distinction as the first Merrythought Teddy Bear, this quintessential companion appeared as part of our debut collection shortly after Merrythought was founded in 1930. 

Honouring the details of the original bear, this recreation carefully brings this important teddy bear back to life using the finest, vintage-style golden mohair plush, paired with chestnut-coloured pure wool felt paws.

True to the 'unequalled quality' of the 1930's character, this timeless fully-jointed teddy bear is adorned with a traditional off-centre scarlet satin bow, and 'growls' when tipped.
 
As with each character in Merrythought’s Heritage Collection, This Merrythought Bear features an authentic replica of our earliest ‘hygienic toys’ label, and has been individually numbered as a Special Edition.
